This lovely Madeira holiday accommodation comprises a tradditional "quinta-style" detached house of around one hundred years old, painted in typical Madeiran
colours and set under a red tiled roof.
"Quinta Elena" is a beautifully furnished house complete with some family antiques. The spacious open plan sitting /dining room
is on the ground floor, has tiled flooring and is on two levels. There is also a stone fireplace, and comfortable seating,
cable TV/DVD, radio/CD player. The ground floor also has a tiled cloakroom with toilet and hand basin.
The family size kitchen has typical Portuguese tiles. There is a table and chairs, a large pine cupboard, a large refrigerator
and freezer, gas cooker hob and electric oven.
An elegant staircase leads up to the first floor, where there are three bedrooms:
The master bedroom has an extra large double bed, in the traditional Madeiran style. There is also a dressing room and a tiled en-suite
bathroom (complete with wash basin, w.c. and bath with shower over). Further doors open onto the westward-facing lower terrace,
which enjoys the afternoon sun, and is furnished with some wicker chairs.
The second double room faces eastward and is furnished with a standard size four poster bed and a built in cupboard.
A third bedroom is furnished with a single bed and has a built in cupboard.
Also on this floor is a tiled family bathroom with toilet, bidet, hand basin and bath with shower over.
The stairs continue up to the top level which serves as a second single bedroom /sitting area with a pretty iron day bed.
Double doors then lead, onto an upper terrace, which is furnished with two sun loungers, and has fine easterly views across Funchal,
the mountains and along the coast towards the Desertas Islands in the distance.
