Madeira self catering Holiday Villa (continued)
As we continue through the colourful, Bougainvillea-draped entrance, and into the secluded, walled garden of this delightful Quinta-style holiday villa, we are reminded why Madeira is known as "The Jewel of the Atlantic," and this charming self-catering accommodation attracts our visitors to return to Funchal again and again for holidays and short breaks.
The secluded garden has a pleasant seating area steeped in the fragrance of exotic flower blooms - a lovely spot to relax with a glass of the local Madeira wine at the end of the day. To the rear of the house, there is a covered courtyard area - ideal for walkers' boots,
which also houses a washing machine, a further toilet, wash basin and shower room.
Although we do not have a swimming pool, the pool of a nearby hotel is available for a small daily fee and there is also a
poolside restaurant.
From here, stronger swimmers can also access the sea.
